Ritual

The ritual of a wedding is a strange one. You might say in some sense it is wildly unnecessary....but everyone wants their day don't they?

*ALERT! - Cupcake Junkies

Lately it seems like cupcakes are everywhere. There are so many little speciality cupcake baking shops popping up and the gluttonous cupcake addicts (i.e. Dan) are gorging themselves on these delicious delicacies. Call it the Sex and the City effect or blame it on the economy but it really has created a new industry. This is good news for some workers including packaging designers who couldn't resist the temptation to create a little box designed to hold a single cupcake. Its so cute it might just make you sick!

PERSONAL PROJECT! - Print, cut and glue together your own single cupcake holder!

***As a bonus, for the florists. Fancy!

Curiosity - Kowloon Walled City

Today's Wikipedia curiosity is the Kowloon Walled City that was formerly in Hong Kong. This enclave grew from a watchpost to guard against pirates during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) into a monolith residential anomaly that was demolished in 1993. Throughout its history control of the huge block wavered between residents to a haven for criminals (Triads), drug addicts and lowlifes. At its peak it had about 50,000 people in a 0.026 km² space which made it the most densely populated urban area on Earth at the time. It was said that the city was so dense you could walk across the rooftops without ever having to touch the ground. After its demolition it was turned into a park. The city has inspired artists and filmmakers around the world
